About Me

It was the great teachers in my life who inspired me to make a difference in the lives of young people through education. It was those teachers who encouraged me, inspired me, and taught me the subjects I needed to know to be prepared for college and life.  Now it is my turn to be a great teacher who inspires the joy of learning in your child.


In 2008 I completed my masters degree and credential in special education to complement an undergraduate degree in Bio-Chemistry from UCSD. With more than 10 years of teaching experience spanning pre-kindergarten to high school students, I have worked with a wide range of students diagnosed with autism, ADD, ADHD, specific learning disability, emotional disturbance, and speech and language delays.

My subject matter expertise includes math, reading and science; I recently designed and implemented the Science Lab hands on curriculum (grades K-3) at Cardiff Elementary School, a California Distinguished School.  I understand how difficult learning can be for some students and how important patience and encouragement is in the teaching process. Helping students achieve their educational goals and watching them begin to enjoy the learning process is one of my greatest joys.

My three wonderful children offer me the opportunity to practice the art of teaching and the joy of learning on a daily basis.  We regularly plan new projects together and are constantly on the look out for the next learning experience.  My favorite place is the library where you can find me browsing stacks of books searching for the next best read or fun learning activities for the kids.  Together we set learning goals for each child, monitor our progress and work closely to ensure they are becoming the best students, and global citizens, that they can be.
